Volunteer for the June 29th Market!
Opportunities include:
Before June 29th
1) Postcard Distribution (week of June 9th and week of June 16th)
Distribute postcards to designated restaurants and businesses (primarily in Downtown Manhattan and Brooklyn);
Distribute postcards to interested businesses in other neighborhoods. We especially seek volunteers from areas beyond Downtown Manhattan / Downtown Brooklyn who know their neighborhoods well and can deliver postcards where they will have the most impact.
2) Preparation: General Purpose (week of June 23, leading into June 29th)
We are seeking a few volunteers who will have some free time this week to run minor last-minute errands, especially if you have a vehicle at your disposal.
On June 29th
NOTE: though shifts are noted, any time you can give will be most appreciated
3) Set-Up (6am - 11am)
Assemble and cover vendor tables, assemble vendor signs.
4)Information Desk (10 am - 4pm)
Provide general info, manage mailing list and membership signup sheets. If you are particularly knowledgeable about the fields of food, agriculture and the New Amsterdam Market proposal, we hope you will be interested in taking up these posts!
5) Market: General Purpose (10am - 4pm)
General tasks needed by vendors (each volunteer will be assigned an aisle; these slots are particularly good for people with food handling experience).
6) Program/Donation Pillars (10am - 4pm)
Distribute programs on the North and South sides of the market., attend to donation box.
7) Breakdown (4pm - 7pm)
Disassemble the tables, signs, assist with general cleanup.
