PICNIC-TOTES BY MARLOW AND DAUGHTERS (MUST PRE-ORDER)
Pre-order a picnic lunch from Marlow & Daughters to pick up at the market! For $30 you can purchase either a vegetarian or an omnivore’s picnic for two. The omnivore’s picnic features a wedge of Divine Providence, a Gouda-style cheese with buttery, sharp flavors and a smooth creamy texture from Narragansett Creamery in Rhode Island; and sliced cacciatorini, a small, course-ground, air cured/dried pork sausage lightly seasoned with red wine and garlic from Salumeria Biellese in Manhattan.  The vegetarian picnic features: a wedge of Divine Providence and a small wheel of Weybridge, an organic, bloomy rind cheese from The Scholten Family Farm in Vermont.

All picnics come packed in a Marlow & Daughters tote bag, and also include cornichons, mixed olives, mustard, and fresh, seasonal fruit.

American Buffalo
Clayville, NY
Guy Sterling raises free range, grass-fed bison, and will be bringing a range of his bison meat, including steaks, burgers, hotdogs, sweet and hot Italian sausages, breakfast sausage, and bison jerky. He will also have his own heirloom tomatoes, fresh mixed greens, spinach, arugula, basil, and swiss chard.

Animal Welfare Approved
AWA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving farm animal welfare. Their seal on meat, dairy and egg products certifies that these items meet their standards, which are some are the most rigorous and progressive animal care requirements in the nation, and the only ones requiring the animals to be raised outdoors and on pasture or range. They will be offering samples of Grazin’ Angus Acres Animal Welfare Approved pepperoni sitcks and Finger Lakes Dexter Creamery’s Animal Welfare Approved kefir cheese, kefir blue cheese, and their new kefir raw milk spreadable chive cheese at the market.

Basis

Basis is a distributor that provides both Farm-to-Chef and home delivery services to bring fresh, local foods from family farms to their customers. They will be selling seasonal fruit and produce, milk, cream, butter, yogurt, and poultry on behalf of BoBo Poultry, as well as a taste of what can be cooked with these ingredients.

Mary Woltz runs the Bee’s Needs Apiary, and will be selling not only honey from her bees, but her own handcrafted lip balms and hand salves as well.

Bellwether Hard Cider

Bellwether makes around 10 varieties of hard cider, all with apples from their orchard of European cider varieties. As well as a number of apple ciders ranging from dry to semi-sweet, Bellwether also makes both a cherry cider and a black currant cider.

Benmarl Winery
Marlboro, NY,
Benmarl is America’s oldest vineyard, and produces artisan-made red, white, rose, and sweet wines that are aged carefully in oak or held in stainless steel in the Benmarl cellars until ready.

Breezy Hill Orchard
Hudson Valley, NY.
This orchard and cider mill will be selling fresh, in-season fruit as well as juices, organic mint and mint tea.

Brooklyn Oenology

Brooklyn Oenology is a winery located on the edge of Williamsburg and Greenpoint. All of their wines are produced from grapes grown locally on the North Fork of Long Island.

Brooklyn Bridge Forest

The wooden boardwalk of the Brooklyn Bridge Promenade will soon need to be replaced. Rather than have the traditional tropical hardwood replaced with plastic or chemically treated softwood, the Brooklyn Bridge Forest project is working to raise funds to endow a sustainably managed and harvested forest that could provide the Brooklyn Bridge with ethically sourced hardwood.

Bug Hill Farm

Owner and grower Kate Kerivan produces fruit cordials using only honey and her own fresh produce. She will be selling both her Black Currant Cordial and her Pink Rhubarb Rush (also a cordial) through Provisions of New York City.

Calkins Creamery
Honesdale, PA
Calkins Creamery makes a variety of artisan, raw milk cheeses with milk from their own herd of Holstein cows. They will be bringing a selection of these cheese, as well as their own, pastured ground beef and raw honey.

Cayuga Pure Organics
Ithaca, NY.
Cayuga grows a variety of dry beans and grains using sustainable farming practices. They produce dry beans, whole grains, and flours, including wheat, buckwheat, barley, oats, farro, white beans, black beans, pinto beans, soy beans, red beans, and cornmeal. Cayuga will also be partnering with The Ravioli Store to sell fresh pastas made from some of their flours.

Cellars at Jasper Hill
Greensboro, VT
The Cellars at Jasper Hill Farm provide aging facilities and services for a number of small, artisan farmstead cheese producers of the region. They also produce Cabot’s Clothbound Cheddar, and will be bringing a selection of their cheeses to the market.

Consider Bardwell
West Pawlet, VT
Consider Bardwell Farm was the first cheese-making co-op in Vermont, and are now reviving the tradition of making small batches of cheese by hand. They make a variety of cheeses, with raw milk both from their own herd of goats and from a neighboring herd of Jersey cows.

Cooperstown Cheese Company
Milford, NY
These artisan cheese makers make two types of cheese with raw milk from the Swiss Brown cows of a neighboring farm: the Toma con Brio, which is soft and bloomy, and the Toma Celena, which is firm and aged. They also make their Jersey Girl Colby from the raw milk of a neighboring herd of Jersey cows, and will be selling all three cheeses at the market.

Cycles Delivery, LLC.

NYU students Michelle Dugan and Ashley Seiver founded their bicycle delivery service in 2003, allowing customers to have their farmers market purchases delivered to their homes. Cycles will be offering this service to New Amsterdam Market customers starting July 24 and through the fall season.

Farmer John Pahucki grows a wide variety of high quality produce, and will have a large selection of in-season fruit and vegetables.

Edible Communities
Edible Communities publishes magazines specific to distinct culinary regions throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, which celebrate the local foods and communities of those regions. Representatives of the Edible magazine from a number of New York regions will be at the market, sharing the articles, recipes, and beautiful photographs contained in their magazines.

Fleisher’s Grass-fed & Organic Meats
Kingston, NY
This butcher shop, which has been in business since 1901, sells exclusively pasture-raised and organic meats. They carry beef, pork, lamb, poultry and sausages, all from local farmers who have raised their animals on a primarily grass-based diet or according to organic standards.

Great Performances
New York, NY
This catering company also owns Katchkie Farm in Columbia County, NY, which provides them with fresh produce for every event. Market-goers will be able to purchase some of their freshly-prepared, seasonal fare.

Hot Bread Kitchen
Brooklyn, NY
This non-profit bakery provides employment for immigrant women, and is dedicated to preserving culinary traditions from all over the world. They will be bringing breads baked using methods and recipes from some of these traditions.

Brooklyn, NY
Home/Made, based in Red Hook Brooklyn, will be selling their herb-marinated goat cheese, dried fruits compote, chicken liver pate, a new caramel sauce, and their famous pizza bianca.

Hudson Valley Duck Farm
Ferndale, NY
The Hudson Valley Duck Farm humanely raises Moulard Ducks to produce foie gras as well as other duck products.

Jack’s Coffee
New York, NY
This coffee shop, located at the Seaport just a couple blocks from where the market takes place sells organic, fair trade, shade grown coffee. The will iced coffee and iced green tea for market-goers to enjoy.

Jimmy’s No. 43
New York, NY
Jimmy’s No. 43 serves a seasonal menu of small and large plates made primarily from local and organic ingredients. Market-goers will be able to enjoy a selection of some of their simply, freshly cooked fare.

Kombucha Brooklyn

Kombucha Brooklyn will be selling their carefully brewed classic Kombucha. They have also partnered with Wild Gourmet Foods of Vermont to make a special Sweet Fern kombucha with wild gathered ferns.

Ledgenear Farm

Ledgenear farm taps their own maple trees to produce maple syrup.

Liddabit Sweets
Brooklyn, NY
Candy-makers Liz Gutman and Jen King make their handmade, artisanal confections from local, seasonal ingredients. Their candies include everything from caramels, lollipops, and jellies, to candy bars, honeycomb and caramel corn.

Luke’s Lobster

Luke’s Lobster will be providing market goers with their lobster rolls made from fresh, sustainably caught Maine lobster.

Manhattan Meadery

Brothers Nathaniel and Thatcher Martin produce small batches of their Brooklyn Buzz mead. This dry honey wine is made with artisanal honey from a local New York State beekeeper.

Marlow & Sons
Brooklyn, NY
Marlow & Sons serves a simple menu that includes house-made sausages and seasonal specials, all made with meats and produce sourced from local purveyors. They will be providing market-goers with a taste of their fresh, delicious fare, and will have prepared picnic baskets available to pre-order which will include a selection of cheese, charcuterie, olives, cornichons, wine jelly and fruit.

Mast Brothers Chocolate
Brooklyn, NY
Brothers Rick and Michael Mast are the only bean to bar chocolate makers in New York City, producing chocolate from directly sourced, fair trade cocoa beans in their Brooklyn “factory”. They will be selling their single origin chocolate bars, and bars flavored with ingredients such as Fleur de Sel, almonds and sea salt, or cocoa nibs.

McEnroe Organic Farm

This family-owned farm uses organic and sustainable methods to grow fruits, vegetables and meats.

Mother-in-Law’s Kimchi

Lauryn Chun makes artisanal kimchi using a recipe from her mother’s restaurant Jang Mo Gip, in California. She will be selling her kimchis made with local, seasonal ingredients.

Nordic Breads

Artisan baker Simo Kuusisto bakes Finnish Ruis breads out of organic Nordic whole grain rye. He will be bringing large and small loaves of this bread, and will also have sliced rolls to make into cheese sandwiches.

Orwasher’s Bakery

This artisan bakery from the Upper East Side of Manhattan bakes breads from original starters in a brick oven. They will bring several types of their classic breads, as well pre-sliced bread that’s perfect for picnicking.

Painted Goat Farm

Painted Goat Farm is home to a small herd of 70 goats, and produces artisanal, farmstead fresh and cave-aged goat cheeses.

People’s Pops

The People’s Pops will be selling some of their wide variety of ice-pops from local, sustainably grown ingredients.

This small shop cooks a simple menu of what they call “slow cooked Italian fast food, and will be serving their namesake porchetta sandwiches.

Queens County Farm Museum
Floral Park, NY
This farm, also a New York City Park, is New York City's largest remaining tract of undisturbed farmland (dating from the 17th century) and the only working historical farm in the city. They will be bringing their own sustainably grown lettuce, kale, chard, herbs, flowers, beets, honey and eggs.

The Ravioli Store

The Ravioli Store produces a variety of fresh filled, cut and extruded pastas, all handmade from all-natural ingredients. They will be working in partnership with Cayuga Pure Organics to sell pastas made from Cayuga’s flours.

Red Bee

Beekeeper Marina Marchese harvests raw wildflower and clover honey from her swarm of honeybees, and will be bringing jarred honey, creamed honey, and honeycomb that may be paired with goat cheese and bread for picnic fare.

A pickling company based in the Lower East Side, they make a variety of cucumber pickles as well as everything from pickled smoked paprika okra and soy-wasabi green beans to sweet corn relish and curried green tomato condiment.

Saxelby Cheese Mongers
New York, NY
Owners Anne Saxelby and Benoit Breal sell American farmstead cheeses from their small cheese cave and storefront located in the Essex Street Market. The shop will also be making two types of grilled cheese sandwiches, one savory and one sweet.

Slyboro Ciderhouse

Slyboro Ciderhouse produces hard still, sparkling and ice ciders, all from apples grown on their own orchards.

Sour Puss Pickles

Nova Kim and Les Hook gather wild foods from the woods and fields of Vermont, including many different types of mushrooms and a variety of other greens and edibles. They will be bringing a selection of freshly gathered items, including wild sweet fern, which they will also be supplying to Kombucha Brooklyn for their Sweet Fern Kombucha.
